We've added a significant feature to the Simple Content Manager and that is the ability to have multiple images for any image placeholder. To demonstrate this we've made the image on this news item fade between different images.
Here's some great examples of how this can be used:
- Multiple product shots of an item in your online store
- A range of images that show the facilities available in your motel or hotel rooms
- A consistent way to show graphic designs that you have produced for your clients
We're in the process of getting together some explanatory documentation that will help SCM users understand this feature, but in the meantime if you want to take it for a drive,
contact us and we'll enable it for your website.

Users of our Simple Content Manager product have between them collected
500 customer contacts through people subscribing to their email newsletters. This is a powerful way for SCM owners to stay in touch with their customers.
If you are a SCM user and you have the
Subscribe module enabled then you can simply go into
Settings ->
Mailing List and click the "
Send Email to List" option at the bottom.
This feature was added about a month ago.

In order to meet the need of the market we're pleased to announce the release of our
SCM Starter product. SCM Starter is aimed at websites that don't need the full power of the SCM Regular or Unlimited products just yet but will grow into them.
SCM starter is priced at $49.95 per month which includes:
- Up to five pages
- Links manager
- A single photo album
- Contact form
To compare this product to the SCM product range, check out the
SCM feature and pricing comparison page.
Our SCM product keeps improving. We can't help it, we just love making it better. Here are some of the key new features you should all now have.
Save Protection
Have you ever lost changes because you clicked away from editing a page on your website? This version adds a check to see if you really intended to go somewhere else if you have unsaved changes. This is sure to save some money from the swear jar.
New Theme
A beautiful new design has hit the theme bank. Don't forget you can check out what your site might look like by going to the Settings menu and under Change the Theme find Circut 950. It is a wider theme than normal and has a modern blue look. Check it out.
Playing Nicely
The SCM is learning to talk with third party web applications. A prime example of this is an exciting project we have going with another great Dunedin company Outreach. Keep your eyes peeled because shortly we will have more news on this front.
Tell Your Friends!
If you know anyone who should be using SCM, let them know. This way they'll get to experience the SCM goodness just like you. Then you can form an SCM fan club and go to SCM fan meetings... well OK that may be taking it a bit far but letting them know is a good start.
Remember it's you who keeps making SCM better. We appreciate all the feedback that we get and take it all to heart. You're smart and by helping make SCM better you are making us smarter too.
A lot of people have asked "Whats this RSS thing on the News and Events modules ?" Put simply, it allows people to see your news and events without having to go to your website.
Here is a simple youtube video that explains the whole concept of RSS and how it works.
RSS explained in plain english here
We're really excited about this version of SCM because it adds a new feature that is really going to knock your socks off.
Send to mailing list
You're probably familiar with the Mailing List functionality, where people can add themselves to your mailing list, but until now there had been no way for you to easily contact them - you had to mess about with your email program, copy and paste things etc.
What we've added in this release is the ability to
send an email to your mailing list right from within SCM. You can even select a news item to send, make any alterations, select who you want it to go to and then off it goes. This is a sure-fire way to get people coming back to your website.
This is available for your website immediately - the only requirement is that you have the Subscribe module turned on.
Sortable Columns
In the admin area for your SCM website you can now click on the headers of tables to sort them by their contents. This will let you quickly find something, whether it be the most expensive transaction, or Aaron Aardvark on your mailing list. One click to sort normally, another click to reverse that sort order.
Remember it's you who keep making SCM better. We appreciate all the feedback that we get and take it all to heart.
Thanks for all the feedback you have been sending in - we're using it to make the SCM a better tool for running your business.
This release of the Simple Content Manager improves the internal layout of your website, making it better for search engines to properly index your website, and it also adds a new tick box on the contact form that will result in anyone leaving feedback being added to your mailing list, if you have chosen to use that feature on your website.
We've also been working closely with other companies to investigate integration of external services, e.g. point of sale systems, customer relationship management systems etc to make your SCM website as easy to run as possible.
To get the benefit of these new features you don't have to do anything as upgrades and maintenance are included in the price of your SCM website.

This week we launched the Creation Baby Gear showcase website. This website demonstrates how the Simple Content Manager can be used to quickly provision a website.
The showcase website combines the following modules from the SCM:
- Page Management
- Online Store
- News
- Team (About Us Page)
- Mailing List
Check it out at

Remember, Christmas will be here before you know it - how is your website looking? We've seen that people are starting to shop online now looking for those good bargains. Catch those customers while you can!
